Fabric Requirements:

1 Fat quarter each of Fabrics A, B, C, D, E from the Kiss Me Kate Fabric Line
1 Yard Fabric F for directional fabric or 3/4 Yard for nondirectional fabric (Polka Dot Bows Black)
3/4 Yard Fabric G (Polka dot Bows White)
1/2 Yard for binding (Nail Polish Stripe Black)
1 1/4 Yard Backing Fabric (White Main)
Crib Size Baby Quilt Batting
Steam-a-seam 2

Cutting Requirements:

Cut the Fabrics according to the chart below. A PDF Version of this will be coming soon. This includes the amount needed for the Bow Applique.

Ribbons and Bows Baby Girl Quilt Pattern Instructions

Lay the 12" x 24" pieces of fabric for the bow applique right side down. On the wrong side iron on the steam-a-seam 2 (you will need 2 sheets for each one) according to the instructions.

Using your bow applique template, draw or transfer the applique pattern onto the top of the steam-a-seam 2 fusible. This will be on the side that still has the wax paper sheet on it.
Then cut out bow applique template shape.
Peel the remaining paper off of the inner bow piece and place the sticky side down on the center of the white 25" x 25" center panel.
Iron according to instructions. Then place the black outline of the bow sticky side down on top of the inner purple bow and press into place. The outline should slightly overlap the inner bow. Then edge stitch into place along the bow outline to keep in place
Piece the top and bottom rows of the sashing first. Starting with two rectangles, place them right sides together and sew 1/4" seam down the short side.
Repeat for the next two rectangles. To complete the row, place the rectangle pairs right sides together and sew 1/4" seam. Add the last rectangle to the row to complete. Repeat for both rows.
To make the side/verticle rows you will start with the longer 7.5" rectangle on the bottom with the shorter rectangle on top. Sew down the short side using 1/4" seam. Place the next two short rectangles in the row right sides together and sew 1/4" seam down the short side to join.
Place the rectangle pairs right sides together with the longer rectangle pair on the bottom. Sew the short side of the pairs together using 1/4" seam. To complete the row, add a second long (7.5") rectangle to the end and sew with a 1/4" seam. Repeat for both rows.
Press the seams of all the rows flat.
Place the top row and the bottom row right sides together on the 25" x 25" center panel aligning the raw edges of the panel and the rows. Sew 1/4" seam across the top edge and the bottom edge to add the rows. Press seams toward the inside.
Place the right row and the left row right sides together on the 25" x 25" center panel aligning the raw edges of the panel and the rows. Sew 1/4" seam down the right edge and the left edge to add the rows. Press seams toward the inside.
To add the border, place the border side panels right sides together on the sides of the quilt top lining the raw edges up. Sew a 1/4" seam down the raw edge of each side.
Finish by placing the top and bottom border panels right sides together on the quilt top. Align the raw edges of the borders with the quilt top and bottom and sew 1/4" seam across both the top and bottom. Press seams open.
Finish quilt as desired. I really liked the contrast of the stripes for the binding.
