Baby Bib Pattern Tutorial
Step One: Cut out Two (2) of the Baby Bib Pattern Pieces as shown above. In the tutorial pictured above, I cut one from cotton fabric and one from Terry cloth to make it more absorbent. You can choose to cut both the front and back from the same type of fabric.
Step 2: Place Baby Bib pattern piece over fabric rectangle (or pattern piece) with Right Sides of Fabric facing each other. Pin in Place. Stitch around edges using a 1/2” seam. Stop two inches from starting place leaving and opening as shown above.
Step 3 - Clip notches around the outer curves curves and snip straight clips around the inner curves. This will help the fabric on the bib to sit smoothly without wrinkles when turned right side out.
Step 4 - Cut a 1/4" deep into the seam allowance on each side of the opening, as shown above. Then trim the seam allowance down to 1/4" around the entire bib leaving a small extended flap on the side.
Step 5 - Turn the bib right side out, rolling the seam allowance flat around the edges. Press with iron to help eliminate the bulky seam allowance.
Step 7 - Tuck the half inch flap on the opening under so it sits flush with the edge of the bib and press to set. Pin in place.
Step 8 - Top stitch 1/8" around the perimeter of the bib to close the opening and give the baby a bib a professional finish. Press the bib one more time.
Step 9 - Add KAM Snaps or velcro to the baby bib to open and close the bib.
Step 10 - You are all finished. Give the bib to an adorable baby and make some more!

My grandson and his wife recently had their first baby, and. Am anxious to make him some bibs and burp cloths. I was lucky to find your site, I love the fact that you provide such cute patterns for free. I signed up for your newsletter and printed and made the burp cloth pattern. Now I’d like to make the side snap bib, but I forgot the password.
