For Valentines Day I finished up some Geranium Dresses that I started over the holidays. I was a bit on a Geranium dress binge (you can see them here and here) at the time and hadn't quite gotten them done in time for Christmas. Perfect opportunity to whittle down on my Work-in-Progress stack! I added some red ribbon and pearl buttons and...Valentines Day dress! The best part for her was the red American girl doll umbrella I found on amazon. she loved twirling around with it! I love the softness added by the pearl buttons I found at Joann Fabric. I am in love with the naptime hair little red strip on the button placket that really contrasts with the black and white fabric. Ok, but the hair! I totally did not even notice until I saw these photos. Mama exhaustion much? The black and white fabric is out of stock now but was from the Mystic line by Lila Tuellar. For the skirt I used a white taffeta from amazon and a lace rose trim I got from there as well.I had to include this sweet picture of her sucking her thumb. She had just woken up from her nap and was still kind of sleepy. It's tough being three! wink.I think this one might be my favorite picture. McKenna decided zebra shoes were the perfect accessory! It's a good thing it wasn't actually raining outside, I'm not sure this umbrella would have helped!
I usually go for bright colors like pink and aqua, but the red and black are just so classic!
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!
