I can’t tell you how happy I am to be part of the beautiful Secret Garden Dress Tour! Gaaaaaah. The back is just simply stunning. This pattern will be sure to find its way in lots of family and holiday photos. I love that it is on trend with the “bow” back that has been popping up this year, but timeless enough to make any little girl feel like a princess.
For my version I used Sugar Hill from Tanya Whelan and Medium Pink Dots from Riley Blake Designs. The Secret Garden Dress is a collaboration from Sprouting Jube Jube and E+M Patterns. I definetly think the ladies knocked it out of the park with this one. As a sewist I apprecitated the new techniques that I learned while sewing this pattern as well. That being said, I believe this pattern is for the intermediate seamstress, since there is some intricate construction to acheive the flounces. I also like that it drapes well using quilting cotton since a stiffer fabric does better to keep the full shape.
