What happens when vintage style meets lovely florals? The Shabby Chic Betty Skirt.
Early in the fall you might have seen the Betty Skirt tour happening in blogland. The Shaffer Sisters were lovely enough to invite me on their tour
but I totally dropped the ball due to my own personal issues and although I didn't blog about it then, I still wanted to share my version of this adorable skirt pattern. These ladies truly worked hard to make this pattern top notch and even went back to drafting and brought more sizes for their customers, including plus and women's.
Anyways, this was a fun pattern to do a little fabric mix and match with. I even added a flat piping for a little contrast. Since the pattern is styled after the vintage look of the 1920's, I went with a shabby chic look. I couldn't decide which colorway of the main print to use, so I made two!
The main fabric is Up Parasol by Heather Bailey in Mockingbird Turquoise and Pink from Glam Fabrics. For the piping I used New Wave in Pink and for the top part of the yellow skirt, I used Riley Blake Small Yellow Dots. I've decided that these are the perfect skirts for saltwater sandals! A classic summer look.
