Here is the last of KCW and I've got some sweet Olivia dresses to share. I used the pattern from See Kate Sew which has a wonderful vintage appeal to it. These dresses has such a nostalgic feel to them that after ballet I popped the girls in the car, tights and all and drove them over to this adorable gift shop that has the cutest exterior that reminds me of an English cottage. In the spring there are tons of blossoms so I will have to return for more pictures. My goal lately has been to seek out all the picturesque spots where I live and take pictures of the kids (and work on my photo skills).
I used light weight voile for both dresses so they would not be stiff and adds a summery feel to them. Ava's dress is made with Abalone Cove Voile from Cloud 9. The collar is made with a Black Essex-Dyed which has an awesome texture to it.
The Voile I used for McKenna's dress is to die for. The fabric is so soft and buttery, but what else could you expect from Art Gallery. They are seriously my new favorite fabric manufacturer. They have been so on trend and the quality of their fabric is awesome. If you get a chance, check out Jennie's selection of Art Gallery Fabrics in her shop, she has a ton of great prints. She is offering a discount right now.
The dresses turned out a little longer than I would have liked. The Olivia Dress does come with a "Vintage" option of a shorter style for the smaller sizes and if I made it again, I would have adapted it for the sizes I made since I La-La-LOVE vintage. I totally can't wait for Vintage May. I need to start pattern hoarding now to get ready!
