Lately I've been totally into green and navy; stripes, polka dots, whatever. I even just got a new t-shirt with this peachy kee kelly green and navy stripes. Soooo, of course I had to sew up something in this color combo for my kiddos. I found this cool knit fabric at Girl Charlee on sale (score) and love the fact it had an 11" repeat in pattern (see the sleeves). It just so happened that Peek a Boo Pattern Shop was having a sew along this week for the V-Neck Cardigan - perfect timing since I had been wanting make another one of these awesome cardi's.
I la la LOVE the ease of this pattern. LOVE that it makes knits approachable and easy to sew. And Fast. Did I mention fast? I made a size 4 which as you can see is totally too big, but it will get more love that way! I also whipped up a pair of leggings using an existing pattern I had - also a size 4 and WAY too big. Whoa nelly. That didn't really fit in there, but I just wanted to say that (wink). My only issue was not with the pattern, but with the fact that I used a spandex knit for the neckline and cuffs. Note to self, use rib knit when called for. It has way too much tension and makes everything pucker unless you add a little extra length.
She wan't really up for a photo shoot right after ballet class, but a tootsie roll did the trick!
Did you notice the black button in the middle? Don't look. Some sneaky tiny hands found their way over to my buttons and alas I had no more navy ones in time for pics.
Thankfully Kenna bugga digs it so it won't get thrown in the drawer never to be seen again. Phew.
