The SewVery Sunny Dress and Top Pattern Tour

This week is the official Blog Tour and release of Veronica from SewVery's adorable Sunny Top and Dress Pattern!   You have probably started to see it around blogland (see tour below) and it seriously has some major cuteness factor going on.This pattern was a pretty quick sew (my favorite kind) and had me reminiscing of hot summer days spent in playing outside as a child.  I instantly saw hayrides and lemonade stands and knew that this floral from Fig Tree and gingham from Tasha Noel's the Simple Life were perfect.

I didn't quite have enough of the floral so I ended up cutting the front piece so the bottom portion of it  was the same as the back pattern piece.  I added half inch seam to each of the cut portions and sewed them together to equal the bodice front pattern piece.   I also added a half inch trim to the bottom to complete the look.

Matching shorts were of course in order, you can find the pattern here.  I used a lightweight Indigo denim from Robert Kaufman.  I have been working really hard to use fabrics from my stash instead of buying new ones, so this was totally a win on cuteness and stash busting.  Ava and I had a lot of fun when we headed on over to our local organic shop to do this photo shoot.  I have been admiring the great setting this little shop has and telling myself that I was going to take photo's here sometime.  I am so happy how well it worked out, and yes, I bought all of the tomatoes that Ava dropped while taking pictures!

There is also a 20% discount over at the sewVery pattern shop going on during the blog tour, so go on over and get your copy and check out the other ladies on this pattern tour also!
